HM 17th Regiment of Infantry
Under the Redcoat 2006/225
On June 23, 24, and 25, 2006, members of Captain Robert Clayton's Company, HM 17th Infantry, attended the 225th Anniversary of the occupation of Williamsburg. Friday's march in to occupy featured torrential rain showers, which drowned the site on Friday afternoon. Saturday and Sunday went much smoother, featuring relatively mild weather and a seemingly inactive opposition force. This year's composite company performed extremely well, pulling two hours of impromptu escort duty for Lord Cornwallis on Saturday as well as our usual assignments. Clayton's Company also welcomed two new members to our ranks this weekend, campfollowers Taylor Shelby and Julie Herczeg.
