His Majesty's 17th Regiment of Foot

Captain Robert Clayton's Company

Colonial Williamsburg: Under the Redcoat 2005

From June 24-26th, members of Clayton's Company once again traveled to Williamsburg, Virginia to take part in the annual occupation of Colonial Williamsburg. This year, as last year, we served as part of the additional company, combined with elements of the 33rd Regiment. The weather cooperated fairly well, giving us one of the coolest UTR's to date. We were much impressed by the improved kit being sported by many units, the increased number of proper campfollowers, and an opposition force that was quite manageable. All in all, UTR 2005 was the best yet to date, and we look forward to returning again next year. Photos courtesy of Heather and Diane Gray.
