Our Fellow Leicesters

The societies and agencies listed here are affiliated with the 17th Regiment and its modern descendant, the Royal Leicestershire Regiment. As such, they are all extensions of our larger regimental family.

The Tommy Atkins Society- Recreating B Company, 1st Battalion, The Leicestershire Regiment during the Second World War, along with several other units and civilian auxiliaries of the same period. The Tommy Atkins Society is based at Ground Zero for the regiment, at our headquarters in the city of Leicester, Leicestershire, England.

Allied Units

HM 17th Regiment of Light Dragoons- Our brother unit in the cavalry and the finest living history organization dedicated to commemorating the services of the British Regular cavalry.

Claus' Rangers- Lt. Col. Daniel Claus' Rangers, a great campaigner group portraying a loyalist ranger unit from upstate New York.

The 10th Massachusetts Regiment- Commemorating the Light Infantry Company of Colonel Marshall's Regiment of the Massachusetts Congressionals.

Benjamin Whitcomb's Independent Corps of Rangers- Commemorating the services and exploits of Major Whitcomb's Rangers, one of the most infamous bands of partisans to harass the British forces in Canada. These "infamous skulkers" are Vermont's finest, in the eighteenth and the twenty-first centuries.

Sutlers

The following sutlers offer wares that are considered of sufficient quality for use in Clayton's Company. Before making any purchases, all recruits and members should consult with the unit cadre.

Burnley and Trowbridge Company- Our Southern merchants who carry the very finest array of cloth and notions suitable for all purposes military and civilian.

Roy Najecki- Our New England sutler who carries the regimental buttons, hat appointments, and cloth for our clothing.

Larger Organizations

The Brigade of the American Revolution (BAR)- The umbrella organization of which Clayton's Company is a member. The BAR puts on a number of good events every year and provides some support services, including excellent historical publications.
